News and Notes – 18th / 19th February 2017

In the winter of 2008, EG Ladies made a return to Indoor competition after a 20 year hiatus. Winning the regional round, they eventually placed 3rd in the Super Sixes Women’s division 2.

Fast forward, and this last weekend saw them make their European debut in the Indoor Club Trophy in Lithuania. Three wins, a draw, and two losses were sufficient to place 3rd and take the bronze medal. Heartfelt to congratulations to Mary and the team for this fantastic success.

Meanwhile back home, more games than originally scheduled with the Ladies 2’s and 3’s making up games postponed from last month, on top of a full program of Men’s matches.

Played 8, won 4, drew 2, lost 2, with an aggregate score of 18-12.

News and Notes – 11th / 12th February 2017

After a brief respite, the bad weather returned once again, with a thin but persistent covering of snow wiping out all Saturdays home games, and all but one away fixture.

All games were able to be played Sunday however, although that may be scant consolation to some, as there were only three scheduled…

Played 4, won 2 , drew 1, lost 1, with an aggregate score of 14-6.

News and Notes – 7th / 8th January 2017

Happy new year!

Seemingly still some hangover from the festive period in the first weekends return to action as for the most part, unusually this year, results did not quite go our way.

Outdoor results saw the first reverse of the season, played 7; won 2 , drew 2, lost 3, with an aggregate score of 18-26.

The Super Sixes league stages concluded indoor, with both 1st teams in Premier Division action, and experiencing differing fortunes

And things were looking up on Sunday, with 3 wins out of 5 in junior matches.

News and Notes – 17th / 18h December 2016

There were just 2 league games this weekend, to wrap up the first half of the outdoor season, and it’s fair to say that things ended well.

Played 2; won 2 , drew 0, lost 0, with an aggregate score of 15-4.

The lack of outdoor action was compensated for by the start of the Super Sixes indoor campaign, with both 1st teams in Premier Division action, and teams in age group competition too.

News and Notes – 10th / 11h December 2016

A quiet weekend at Saint Hill, with just 2 home games taking place in the murk of Saturday afternoon, as most teams travelled away for the last full set of games this year.

Overall Played 8; won 5 , drew 0, lost 3, with an aggregate score of 20-11.

Even quieter on Sunday, as all Junior sides played away, including a first league outing for the U12 Boys, coming back with 2 wins, a draw, and just the 1 defeat.

Just about it now for the first half of the season, with only the Men’s 4’s and Saints having league action remaining on the 17th..

The 1st teams both begin the defence of their indoor titles with the opening round of league games this coming weekend.
