On Saturday and Sunday January 20th and 21st, EG U18 Girls competed at the top level of Indoor hockey for their age group.  With an exciting and developing squad, the weekend presented an excellent opportunity to benchmark their progress against the best U18s in the land...

After an un-beaten first day up in York, the girls faced a challenging Sunday in which they were partially reliant on other teams' results gong their way.

In the event, one win to go with the draws and the squad would have topped the group.  As it was, the team didn't quite manage it although they did remain undefeated throughout the tournament.

We are incredibly proud of the squad's achievements and for their command of Indoor hockey.  Having played controlled and intelligent hockey to the highest standard and having remained undefeated they unfortunately  missed out on a spot in the semi-finals of the England Hockey Super 6s Clubs U18 Girls Championships.

The team played with maturity and understanding of the Indoor game that would not have been out of place in the senior leagues.  The older members of the group, who will move on out of the age group will be an asset to whichever team they go on to play for and the younger members will take a wealth of experience along with their innate ability to the U18Gs next year.  The future is bright for this group of young women.
