East Grinstead Hockey Club's Richard Leman Awarded OBE in 2018 Queen's Birthday Honours List

Richard Leman, one of EGHC's longest serving players and volunteers has been awarded Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the Queen's 2018 Birthday Honours List.  Richard received the honour for "Services to Hockey".

EG's Laura Unsworth named Vice Captain of England and Great Britain

Ahead of the upcoming World League finals in New Zealand, England and Great Britain have named Alex Danson as Captain and Hollie Pearne-Webb and EG's Laura Unsworth as Vice Captains.  Read on to learn more, and CONGRATULATIONS Laura Unsworth !!!!!  Laura will be back in action for EG after Christmas following the World League Finals and the Indoor break.

International Hockey Pro League Announced

Today, England Hockey announce that it will become a part of the new International Hockey Pro League, to begin in January 2019.  The new league, which is due to launch in January 2019, will see the nine best men's and nine best women's teams from around the world play each other home and away every year, across a total of 144 games. The fixtures will take place in national stadiums, week in, week out, from January to June.

Great Britain's Women Win at Women's Sporting Trust Awards

Great Britain Men win Azlan Shah Trophy

Great Britain's men lifted the Azlan Shah Cup after beating Australia in a seven-goal thriller in Malaysia.

No side from the British Isles had won the title since England in 1994, and GB saw off the nine-time champions in an incredible final.

Goals from Alan Forsyth and David Goodfield put GB into an early lead before Eddie Ockenden pegged one back, but Ollie Willars was on hand to extend the lead once again.

Joshua Pollard and Dylan Wotherspoon netted either side of Goodfield's second goal of the game to make for a tense finale but GB held firm to ensure a memorable victory.
