On the 25th of November the Men's 1st XI will play hosts to Hampstead & Westminster in their fifth home game of the Men's Hockey League Premier Division. In this fixture last year Hampstead ran out 3-2 winners due to their efficiency from Penalty Corners. Matt Guise Brown put the visitors 1-0 up with a great drag-flick into the top corner in the 9th minute, 19 minutes later Samuel French hit from a penalty corner. Martin Scanlon pulled one back in the 39th Minute before Sam Driver in the 48th minute made the scoreline level with a well taken strike. However 13 minutes from time Guise Brown struck again from a corner to make sure that Hampstead left Saint Hill with all 3 points

EGHC Team News

When East Grinstead travelled to Paddington Rec last season they surrendered a 3-0 second half lead to lose 4-3 ending any hopes of qualifying for the play-offs, they will be looking for revenge this season. Players to keep an eye on will be Ali Clift, his driving runs from defence and great passing genes will be useful in creating chances for the forwards. Dom Bowden's fast hands and quick stick skills in midfield will be vital in beating players and getting into the oppositions D, don't be surprised to see these two getting plenty of assists on Saturday night.

Hampstead & Westminster Team News

Hampstead enjoyed a very successful campaign last year after getting back into the play-offs and finishing fourth. Players to look out for will be new signing and England International Harry Martin his experience at such a young a age will be vital for Hampstead. Also drag flicking maestro Matt Guise Brown will be looking to continue his great goalscoring form against EG after scoring 3 goals in 2 games against them last year. We would like to give a warm welcome back to Saint Hill to player coach Kwan Browne after he helped EG get back to the premier division in the same role a decade ago. Also a warm welcome back to Richard Smith and David Kettle after they had both previously worn the blue and white of East Grinstead .
