On Saturday 14th of October the Ladies 1st XI will play host to Slough in their 4th match of the Women's Hockey League Premier Division. Beginning the season with a 0:0 draw with Holcombe and a 2:0 away defeat at Leicester, our Ladies turned things around with an impressive 2:0 away win at Bowden last weekend.

EGHC Ladies 1st Team News Saturday October 14th

Last weekend's goal scorers, Laura Unsworth and Alexandra Malzer (with her first for the club) will be looking to add to their tally while Ellie Rayer will be looking to return to her pre-season form during which she scored a number of goals in the Plum tournament at Lee Valley. Another hot-shot, Georgie Blackwood, will be hoping for a return to fitness to continue her own goal scoring exploits. With last weekend's squad including a number of U18 players the strength in depth is being tested but the quality is encouraging.

Slough Ladies 1st Team News

Slough's start to the season has been slightly better than EG's so far. An opening day win at home to Buckingham (3:1), an away draw at Bowden (0:0) and a 1:0 win against Canterbury last weekend have put them in second place in the league on 7 points at this early point in the season. Slough are an ambitious side and mired EG Ladies as they won the Indoor title last season; just as EG had done the season before.

Matchday Sponsor

Worth School is delighted to continue sponsoring the ladies this season again and we look forward to seeing them progress. After making the playoffs last season outdoors we hope they can make the final this year and do well in the indoor as well.
