Rory Britten to manage Men's 1st XI

The club is excited to welcome Rory Britten to the Men's 1st XI as the new Manager for the 2021/22 season. 

Rory has been a part of the club for over 5 years, assisting the Ladies' 1st XI in their rise to success and managing the indoor squad for their European Indoor Championship in Den Haag. After his playing career as a Goalkeeper he then moved to umpiring and was awarded his level 3 and completed over 100 National League games. During this time he managed a Mixed side called Phoenix that won 3 National Club Championships and won 4 National Cups.

Rory has managed England Mixed teams and followed Hockey his whole life. Rory is known for his excellent baking skills and working for the NHS throughout the pandemic.

"It is a great privilege to be asked to become the Manager of East Grinstead Men's 1's for outdoor and indoor this season, the history of East Grinstead Men's is huge especially indoor and I am looking forward to being part of the next chapter."

Rory will bring his organised, forward thinking and caring nature to the squad and help facilitate the path of professionalism for the Men.
