East Grinstead Hockey Club requires completed Junior Membership form for all Junior boys and girls under the age of 18 (School Years Reception through to Year 13).
A individual completed form is necessary for each child you wish to register comply with data protection regulations.
All details will be kept secure with access restricted to authorised club officers only.
It is important to ensure that the email addresses and mobile numbers given below are those which are regularly checked as these are our primary means of communicating with club members and in case of any emergencies .
As with all volunteer amateur Sports Clubs, we rely heavily on the support of local sponsors to help us operate the club and to invest strategically in infrastructure and services. As a result, we will, from time to time, include sponsor information in our Club Newsletters which are emailed to the membership. All Club Members are automatically subscribed to these newsletters to enable us to circulate important communications information.
SECTION 1: Junior Member Information
EGHC requires information relating to the Junior Member's health in order to ensure correct duty of care when under the supervision of Club Officials and Volunteers.
In cases where parents do not consent to first aid being administered, the parent will be expected to be by the pitch during all sessions and matches.
EGHC is building close working relationships with a number of schools in the area. By sharing the number of EGHC members attending each school, we can continue to strengthen these relationships.
Whilst it is not compulsory for information related to ethnicity to be recorded, we explain at the foot of this form that reasons why this information is considered important.

SECTION 4: Child Protection Information
East Grinstead Hockey Club closely follows the guidelines for Good Practice established by England Hockey. Every Senior Club Captain and Team Manager has a copy of the EGHC Child Protection Policy and England Hockey’s Code of Ethics and Behaviour. Copies are available on request and on the Club’s website. Every Team Manager, or person responsible for supervision, has been through the DBS checking procedure. In light of this the Club REQUIRES the following consent signatures.
I agree that I have seen the EGHC Privacy Notice and that I am happy to receive, by email, the Grinner which may contain details of occasional relevant Club events as well as training and fixtures information
I agree to my child taking part in Club activities and that all reasonable care will be taken of my child whilst on Club premises and that, on training sessions or whilst my child is engaged in a match, then the designated trainer or manager is acting in loco parentis
I authorise the designated trainer/manager to approve such medical treatment as is deemed necessary in an emergency on the advice of a qualified medical practitioner, including giving anaesthetic and/or a blood transfusion, but only when every effort has been made to contact myself or a person designated by myself
I agree that my child, while attending weekday training sessions at the Club, must sign both in and out with the coaches, and I will be responsible for their safe collection, either by myself or a person designated by myself
I agree that I and my child shall be bound by the Parent and Player Codes of Conduct, Ethics and Behaviour, copies of which are displayed on the EGHC Notice Board and on the Club’s website
I agree that my child’s relevant details may be placed on the “Fixtures Live” database for authorised Club purposes if my child is playing Senior Club hockey during the season
I consent to my child travelling to venues for matches and training by transport provided by the Club which may include travelling in other players’ private cars
I agree to indemnify any Club registered manager/coach/adult member against any claim against the member by a third party or any loss to the member, directly or indirectly arising out of any fault of my child

Volunteers are crucial to almost every aspect of what we do. We rely on people generously donating their time and skills to help our with the running of our club.
There are so many ways you can get involved as a volunteer, whether it’s helping to coach the juniors, managing a team, umpiring, organising social events or becoming part of the clubs administration team.

Sport can and does play a major role in promoting the inclusion of all groups in society. However, inequalities have existed within sport particularly in relation to gender, race and disability. Sport England and England Hockey are committed to promoting and developing sports equity, which is about fairness in sport, equality of access, recognising inequalities and taking steps to address them. By monitoring the profile of people in sports clubs, national governing bodies of sport and Sport England can identify any issues relating to under representation of different groups and can develop strategies to ensure that all people have the opportunity in the future to develop and progress in sport. England Hockey requests this data from clubs as part of the annual affiliation process and completing this data accurately enables the club to give an accurate picture to England Hockey on our membership.

Club Day normally take place the first weekend of September starting at 10:00am , on that day please make your way to the Registration area . Once we have verified registration information we will direct you to the pitch for warm up. On Club Day we have made arrangements for catering and light refreshments with further information available HERE via the news section of our website.
Now that you have submitted your Membership Form, you will receive an email confirming the information you have submitted. We'll keep that information secure with access only open to certain club officials. We'd very much encourage you to add several EGhockey email addresses to address books on email systems . This minimises the chances that our emails to you (including important updates and information about the club) will end up in your SPAM or JUNK folders. We'll tell you how to get the best from our web sites and social media channels in order to remain up to date, what kinds of events will be taking place this season, how to watch our 1st Teams (including the Olympians) in their respective National Premier Leagues, all about our own EGHC Academy, the history of our club and how to get help when you need it !
We communicate a lot throughout the season using Social Media. We'd very much encourage you to follow us, particularly on Twitter , in order to stay right up to date with happenings at EGHC. A great example is that Twitter is the best way for us to notify members if there are last minute reasons for changes or cancellations of matches or training sessions. We'd also be delighted if you would "Like" our Facebook Fan Page as well. This means you will see our posts in your Facebook Feed; a great way to keep up to date with what's happening.
