Paul Adams became a VP of East Grinstead in 2016 following his service to the club as Junior Chairman and his active involvement coaching the juniors and playing for the club.

Paul went to Trinity School in Croydon where he was 1stX1 captain and represented Surrey as a schoolboy before being called up to the England U21 squad during his first year at university. He was 1st X1 captain of Newcastle University and coached both the U14 Northumberland squad as well as the University Ladies section whilst living in the North East.

Upon leaving Newcastle Paul played National League hockey for Teddington and Bromley. His son Austin plays for the U14s and his daughter Cornelia plays in the U8 section (he continues to try to get his wife Kerrie-Anne interested in playing hockey!) .

If anyone has talked with Paul you will know that he very passionate about coaching at East Grinstead and to see the boys and girls progress through from juniors to senior players. His ambition for the club is to see the Mens and Ladies 1st teams contain a majority of home grown players, something which is confident of happening due to the ability of the junior players and the enthusiasm of all involved in the junior section.

Outside of Hockey, Paul is a consultant and Director at AlixPartners where he specialises in Forensic Accounting and Banking compliance and conduct risk.
