With the new season just around the corner, East Grinstead Hockey Club has announced changes to the Club Captaincy for both the Men's and Women's sections.

After two highly successful years in the role, Mike Lewis will be handing over the Men's Club Captaincy to Will Denny.

Will has been part of East Grinstead Hockey Club for more than 9 years and is a familiar and respected figure across the club. Alongside playing for the Men's 2s, Will coaches the junior section and has a strong understanding of the club at all levels.

During his two years as Men's Club Captain, Mike has played a significant role in the continued development and growth of the men's section. He will continue his excellent work of heading up the Junior Section.

We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Mike for his commitment, energy and leadership over the past two seasons, and we wish Will every success as he takes on the role for the new season.

A fantastic period of growth for the Men's section

Mike leaves the Men's Club Captaincy following an exciting period of development, including:

Men's 2s, 3s, 4s and 5s all achieving promotion
Introduction of Men's 5s and Men's 6s
Increased opportunities and availability for Masters hockey
Regular club social events
Introduction of an annual EGHC tournament
These achievements reflect the continued growth of the men's section both on and off the pitch.

After an incredible 11 years as Women's Club Captain, Lottie Gregory-Young will hand over the role to Beth Giddings.

Beth has been a member of East Grinstead Hockey Club for more than 8 years and currently captains the Women's 2s. Her experience, leadership and knowledge of the club make her an excellent choice for the role.

Lottie has made an enormous contribution during her 11 years as Club Captain and will continue to play an important role within the club. She will remain on the Club Committee and will continue to lead both the Sebastian Wolff Stiftung (SWS) Tournament and the Jacques Paloume Tournament.

We would like to thank Lottie for her incredible commitment, drive and enthusiasm over the past 11 years. Her contribution to the club has been outstanding, and we are delighted that she will continue to play an active role in the future of EGHC.

We wish Beth every success as she takes on the Women's Club Captaincy for the new season.

Continued growth across the Women's section

Lottie hands over following a hugely successful period for the women's section, which has seen:

Women's 2s, 3s, 4s and 5s all achieving promotion
Introduction of Women's 5s, 6s and 7s
The successful relaunch of the SWS and Jacques Paloume tournaments

Looking ahead to an exciting new season

Both Will and Beth take on their new roles at an exciting time for East Grinstead Hockey Club, with continued growth across our senior, junior and social hockey programmes.
