UPDATED - EGHC Girls U18 at Nationals...

EG drew both matches on Sunday to remain undefeated over the weekend, but ultimately finished 4th in their pool. Read on...

We are incredibly proud of the EGHC U18G for their great display of indoor hockey today.
Having played intelligent and controlled hockey to the highest standard and having remained undefeated throughout the weekend they narrowly missed out on proceeding to the semifinals of the England Hockey Super 6s Clubs U18 Girls Championship.
The team played with a maturity and understanding of the indoor game that would not have been out of place in the senior leagues of the England Hockey Super 6s Championships.
The elder members of the team who will move on out of the age group will be an asset to whichever team they go on to play for and the younger members will take a wealth of experience along with their innate ability to the U18G's next year. The future is bright for this group of young women.

EGHC U18G played well on the first day of the England Hockey Super 6s Club National Finals considering the flu running through the team this week.

The first game at 13:00 against Beeston was well contested and ended in a 1-1 draw. A long wait ensued for their second game of the day at 16:30 against Harleston Magpies.  EGHC looked like they were going to stagger off the park as winners but an unfortunate own goal in the last second of the game resulted in another draw 2-2. The girls return to Whitgift School tomorrow with an opportunity to keep their undefeated record and all to play for in their quest to book their place in the Semifinals.

They play at 10:10 against Team Bath who top the pool today after securing two wins, followed by their final game at 13:40 against York.
