England Hockey National Finals Weekend 2026

Nottingham Hockey Centre played host to the Junior Club Championship Finals weekend on April 11th and 12th, with EGHC sending two Under 16 Girls teams to the EH Junior showpiece event.

The T1 girls were looking to add to their two golds won at the Indoor Hockey UK tournament, and came up against northern opposition in Stourport HC. They played out a tense 1-1 draw against Stourport in the National T1 Plate Final, going 1-0 down in the first half before equalising in the second. Just like their semi final, the match went to a shootout, with EG scoring all four of theirs to take the win 4-1!

On Sunday, the T2 girls went up to Nottingham looking to replicate the T1 result. Having already had a phenomenal season where they won all their league matches, this young team came up against tough opposition in Oxford HC.

Sadly, it was not to be for our girls with the opposition proving to be too strong on this occasion. In a game that saw seven cards, Oxford took home the spoils winning 5-1.

Despite the disappointment, these girls have had a brilliant season with their league success and a National Cup Finals appearance - they can be immensely proud of their achievements.
