Indoor Hockey UK Derby Grand Slam 2026

The final Indoor Hockey UK tournament of the season took place at the Derby Arena on May Bank Holiday weekend, where our juniors got to showcase their indoor skills for the final time this season!

Six EG teams, and 50 players made the trip up the M1 looking to build on the success of previous Indoor Hockey UK tournaments.

U10 Boys

Our Under 10 boys entered their first ever indoor tournament! The boys were exceptional, winning all six of their groups games without conceding a goal to make the final against Sevenoaks! Unfortunately, it was not to be and the boys lost 2-1 in the final, but took home a silver medal. An incredible effort from all the players!

U12 Girls

Having won a gold and silver medal already at the previous two tournaments, the girls were looking to play some exciting hockey in Derby. Despite some impressive wins against Harleston Magpies and Hockey Mentors, luck was not on their side on this occasion, and they ended up finishing 5th against some very good teams. Well done, girls!

U12 Boys

Heading up to Derby with a young team, our under 12 boys grew into the tournament with some great wins against Knole Park, Wotton under Edge HC and City of York. The team played some excellent hockey, making huge progress since their first indoor tournament at the London Grand Slam. The team finished 9th out of 16 teams. Amazing work, boys!

In one of the largest tournaments at the event, the boys were placed in a tricky group with Repton, Marlow and City of York, with only the top team going through to the semi finals. Big wins against Marlow and York ensured second place for the team, with a mature performance in a loss to eventual winners Repton. The team finished 7th out of 19 teams, a big improvement on their last outing in Nottingham. Well done, boys!

Our under U16 Boys were placed in a tricky group with Repton, Mercian Marauders and Leek. They put in some impressive displays and finished unbeaten in the group to qualify for the semi finals. A win against Beeston and a loss against eventual winners, Cambridge, meant the boysfinished 3rd - taking home a bronze medal back home! Excellent work, boys!
