What Are Mini-Stars and the Talent Development Academy?
Mini-Stars is aimed at players in the U10 and U12 age groups. It focuses on technical excellence, game understanding, and confidence — all delivered in a fun, engaging environment.

The Talent Development Academy supports players in the U14 and U16 age groups, offering a more advanced training curriculum that deepens tactical awareness, builds physical and mental resilience, and prepares athletes for the demands of higher-level hockey.


A True Pathway to Talent Centre Entry
Our Talent Academy at East Grinstead is one of the only official pathways to England Hockey. While Mini-Stars and the Talent Development Academy are not part of the formal Talent System, they can offer a key developmental stepping stone — providing the same training philosophy, structure, and progression model as is delivered within the Talent System.

Players in these programmes are closely monitored and guided toward readiness for assessment at their next school, club, or pathway level, giving them a head start on their journey toward elite performance.

Who Can Join?
Entry into Mini-Stars and the Talent Development Academy is by application only, ensuring a focused environment for those showing real promise and dedication. However, anyone with ambition to join a performance setup is welcome to be assessed — we're open to all young players who want to improve and dream big.
