SWS Junior Tour - July 2024

What a fabulous weekend had in Hamburg visiting our French & German friends for the annual SWS Junior Hockey Tour... 

SWS Foundation Tour to Hamburg 2024

This year saw some juniors from the junior section and from our Talent Academy go to Grossflottbeker Hockey Club in Hamburg. This tournament is a yearly occurrence and is run by the Sebastian Wolff Foundation. This foundation links three clubs from across Europe, East Grinstead, Rouen France and Flottbek in Germany.

The foundation is there to help supply experiences and opportunities for young players to go and play in another country and to make friends that span continents and last a lifetime. This isn't an opportunity you can get anywhere else.

The first day of the tour is all about meeting new people and interacting with players from the other clubs. All players are split into 7 a-side teams and play a round-robin tournament creating new friendships and connections. 

On Sunday however, things turn competitive as the players play within their clubs and will be in a boys league and a girls league. For the first time since 2018, East Grinstead won the tournament and very proudly collected their trophy on Sunday evening at an awards dinner and party.

Next year sees us go to Rouen in France. We hope to see any many of you there as possible.
