Tamoor Abdullah Memorial Tournament

Tournament for "T"

East Grinstead Hockey Club is proud to host the Tamoor Abdullah Memorial Tournament on Saturday 15 August 2026, bringing together players, friends and members of the hockey community to celebrate Tamoor's life and his contribution to the club and sport.

Tamoor, Captain of our Men's 3rd XI, passed away unexpectedly at the beginning of the 2025–2026 season. This tournament is an opportunity for everyone who knew him to come together, remember him, and enjoy a day of hockey in his honour.

The event will begin from midday and will feature a mixed 7-a-side round robin competition, with the top teams progressing to knockouts. There will also be a BBQ and a social in the clubhouse after the hockey.

Throughout the day we will also be raising money for The Hockey Youth Trust, a charity dedicated to helping more young people enjoy and participate in hockey. All entrance fees & charitable donations from the event will be made out to The Hockey Youth Trust in memory of Tamoor.

We hope as many members, former teammates, friends and supporters as possible can join us for what promises to be a fitting tribute, celebrating Tamoor's life through the sport he loved and supporting the next generation of hockey players.
