We are seeking a talented and proactive individual to be our Director of Junior Hockey. Read more for the full job description and details on how to apply.
We are delighted to announce that East Grinstead Hockey Club has been offered a 3-year license to run one of the first 21 England Hockey Talent Academies in the country.
With a 125-year history in the sport, East Grinstead Hockey Club has been part of the foundations of hockey for many years; developing players who have represented England and GB at all levels of the international game.
The club will establish an independent body to setup, run, govern and finance the Talent Academy to ensure those top-level hockey players aged 15-18 at clubs, county and schools around our region are receiving the best chance of being recognised at a national level.
Over the next few months we will be busy implementing the plan that our group of people from across our Performance, Adult and Junior Section worked on so hard to give us this opportunity, and specific detail will be provided to members and other hockey environments in the area.
If you wish to speak with anyone about this, please contact Terry Pullin and also refer to the amazing content on the England Hockey website here: https://www.englandhockey.co.uk/media/news/talent-development-talent-academy-announcement
End of season celebrations kicked off last night with the older juniors enjoying a fabulous awards disco.
The event was kindly sponsored by the club with the assistance of Oaks Farm Weddings and our parent volunteers. The children enjoyed dinner, donut wall, sweet cart and photo booth before taking to the dance floor. Junior Chair Terry Pullin presented coach's and players' awards as well as Junior Club Person of the year for outstanding commitment to training and the wider club community.
Our younger juniors are looking forward to their own end of season roller disco at the club on May 15th.
Congratulations to Izzy, Priya, Aaron, Luca, Luca, Jazzy, Delilah, Jess, Connie, Emma and Louisa.
Chairman Philip Coote said "What a fantastic way to finish the season and testament to the hard work Terry and the junior team have put in this year. Congratulations to the Junior award winners and their teams who have had a fantastic season. We are looking forward to building on this next year."

This week we proudly received our England Hockey ClubMark Certificate in recognition of the good work we do here at East Grinstead Hockey Club. We would like to thank all our members and volunteers for their commitment and support of the Club.
Terry Pullin, Junior Chair said "We are really proud to receive our England Hockey ClubMark certificate which is recognition of the excellent things we do here at EGHC. It means we have an important stepping stone in place towards achieving our medium and long term plans. For some time now we have had ambitions to scale our junior provision to bring hockey to more children from grass roots to performance. Over the past few years, and thanks to our tireless volunteers, we have grown our junior membership which currently stands at over 400 members. This has put us in a position to implement an outreach programme and to fund a full time Director of Hockey. The Committee has approved funding of this important role and the search is now on to find someone with the right credentials to work full time at developing the club's coaching provision for our juniors' . We hope to announce more on this appointment in the coming months. We have ambitions to continue improving on what we do as we work towards playing an important role in England Hockey's new Talent System".
What is the England Hockey ClubMark?
England Hockey ClubMark is designed to set a minimum operating standard for clubs to achieve and ensure that the appropriate risk assessments, policies and procedures are in place. It is a tool for clubs to check that they have the basics in place. Many clubs will already be meeting the ClubMark standard and in some cases going above and beyond the minimum requirement, but attainment of ClubMark is the evidence for clubs and their members that these levels are being systematically met

Come down and support the boys from the pitch. Tickets can be purchased on the gate or in advance online.
If you can't support from the pitch you can catch the game live on our YouTube channel East Grinstead Hockey TV
We would like to thank you all, on behalf of the Mens and Ladies indoor squads, for the unbelievable support that you gave both teams yesterday. It was a fantastic day for the club with the Ladies regaining the title and the Men falling short after an exciting semi-final.
To have so many club members there supporting in full voice makes a massive difference to all of us on the pitch and created a special atmosphere that no other club is able to match. This is the perfect example of what makes East Grinstead Hockey Club such an exciting and special club to play for and be a part of.
We hope to see as many of you as possible over the coming months as both sides battle in the top 6 of the outdoor leagues and the Ladies pushing for the title.
Simon Faulkner, Harriet Mitchell and the East Grinstead Indoor squads
