Coached by Tom Tyers and Steve Innes, the squad are making good progress with good results to match. The 2B team sit in 2ndplace in their league heading into Christmas. The 2C team have had some tricky results in the league but have seen some big wins in friendlies, and the club is really focusing in on their development post-Christmas. For a lot of our players this season is their first ever experience of indoor hockey!
U14 Girls
This is a very new group this season, with many of the players joining the club over the summer. Supported by the U12 girls, this team have made great strides so far, sitting 3rdin their Tier 2 league, and advancing to the next round of the National Tier 2 cup after defeating Sevenoaks 8-0. The coaches have been particularly impressed at how quickly these girls have progressed in their maturity on the pitch, playing some amazing hockey against older, more expeirenced teams. Eyes will be set on cup and league wins for this group who are coming together nicely!
U16 Boys
Entering into a very tricky pool within Tier 1, this teams resolve grows stronger week by week. Coached by the dedicated Fergus Jackson, this group is working hard to achieve Tier 1 status in the long-term. The boys have also been playing plenty of indoor hockey, training every week with coach Josh Green. These boys came 4that the Indoor Hockey UK Finals in Crawley, and recently finished 3rdat the South East Hockey Regional Finals in Canterbury. We have also seen a number of the squad playing for our adult teams from the Men's 5s to the Men's 2s. The club is really pleased to see them seizing every opportunity they can get to take their hockey to the next level!
U16 Girls
This age-group has had a great first half of the season on the pitch. Our Tier 1 girls are showing that they are a force to be reckoned with as one of the best teams in the country. Despite finishing with a goal difference of +16 they finished 3rdin their Supra League pool, playing some really impressive hockey along the way. They finished 1stat the Indoor Hockey UK event in Crawley, winning an impressive 5-0 in the final against Surbiton, and recently finished 2ndat the South East Hockey Indoor Regional Finals in Canterbury. The Tier 2 team have had a phenomenal first half of the season, winning all their matches! They currently sit 1stin their Tier 2 Pool, and have progressed through two rounds of the Tier 2 National Cup. This age group has plenty of squad depth making selection incredibly tricky for the coaches! They are set for an exciting second half to the season.
U18 Boys
The U18s now get the majority of their hockey within the adult teams. We see plenty of the boys training with our Premier League Men's First Team, and for other men's teams across the club. Not only that, these boys came 4that the Indoor Hockey UK tournament in Crawley, and finished 3rdat the South East Regional Indoor Finals. They will be in the National Tier 1 Plate in the second half of the season!
U18 Girls
The U18 Girls have had a very successful first half of the season despite the limited match time as a team. Our Tier 1 girls unfortunately lost to a very good Surbiton team 2-1 in the National Cup, in what could have been a final the standard was so high! They bounced back from this disappointment and have had great success in the indoor game, coming 1stat the Indoor Hockey UK tournament, and 1stat the South East Indoor Regional Finals meaning they progress through to the National Finals! Our Tier 2 team have had some very close losses in the league but will be looking to bounce back post Christmas! The club is so pleased to see so many U18 girls playing for the adult teams across the club, with numbers at women's training higher than ever!
