EGHC U18 Girls win Southern Counties Indoor Title

Our wonderful U18 girls won the Southern Counties Hockey Association Clubs' Junior Indoor 2017 over the past weekend.  They now qualify for the England Hockey Super 6s Junior Championships 2017/18 on 20th & 21st January 2018 at Whitgift School.

Playing some outstanding controlled and thoughtful hockey and with an amazing team spirit they won 5 out of their 6 matches, convincingly beating the other top teams, Wycombe and Surbiton only drawing to local rivals Horsham who provided us with our most difficult game of the day (possibly because it pitted sisters v sisters and best friends and Sussex team mates against each other) The girls scored 19 goals on their way to this impressive victory only conceding 2 all day. Breanna Alleyne stepped in as GK at the twilight hour and though humble in her own experience her ability at indoor was outstanding. Combine that with an extremely talented and determined group of outfield players and it made for an exciting and wonderfully successful day. Their teamwork was textbook hockey

Thanks to Phoebe and Guy workman for coaching, to Lisa Childs and Rachael Workman for managing and organising through out the day and the wonderful support from the parents but most of all thanks to these 8 girls who worked so very very hard playing with passion and pride - we couldn't be more proud of them all.

Team:  Breanna Alleyne (GK), Lauren Workman (Capt), Issie Childs, Robyn Bentley, Jenny Chee, Coca Hall, Alex Malzer, Rosie Hope
